GNIU is a locally owned company established in September 1973. It was incorporated to trade in the business of insurance, such as: property, casualty, life and health. It started with four employees, including the husband and wife team of Domie V. Bumagat, Sr. and Edarlina Buraga Bumagat. With the perseverance and hard work of the couple and their trusted and loyal employees, the company grew to a multi million-dollar operation within a short period.

Today, GNIU currently employs over 30 staff servicing thousands of customers in two convenient locations: Tamuning Main Office (Chalan San Antonio Road), and Micronesia Mall Branch. GNIU ranks as one of the top five insurance agencies on Guam.

For the last 39 years, GNIU is the Managing General Agent of Chung-Kuo Insurance Company, Limited - one of the three largest admitted insurers on Guam. GNIU is also a General Agent of Pacific Guardian Life Insurance, a Hawaii-based insurer.

GNIU is a full-line agency, offering life, non-life and health insurance products. It has become a one-stop-shop for customers' insurance needs. It markets property and liability insurance, surety and bonding, fidelity and crime, life and health insurance, investments and annuities. The company is also a licensed surplus lines broker with access to Lloyds of London and the U.S. Excess and Surplus Lines market. This capability enables GNIU to place risks that otherwise cannot be insured by companies on Guam. GNIU is able to assist clients in securing coverage that is not readily available locally, such as Professional Liability Insurance, Aviation Insurance, Special Events, Contractors All Risks, and others.

The untimely passing of Domie Sr. in 1996 necessitated a "passing of the torch" in the management of the company. Domie B. Bumagat, Jr now heads GNIU as its President and CEO. The company is still a closely held family corporation and it is this structure that accounts for the personal and family atmosphere that its clients have come to experience and expect.
